Event Highlights...
VSNY celebrated Shivarathri and Ugadi on March 28, 2009 at the Six Mile Run church. It was very well attended. We had about 200 guests.
The celebrations started out with our little ones performing 'Linga Pooja' followed by bhajans taught by Basavaraj Hiremath. The pooja was
organized by Mrs. Prema Veerabhadrappa and it was conducted by Basavaraj Hiremath.
The master of ceremonies for the evening were Manjula S., Shawn Guru(VSNY Youth Member) and Kris Guru (VSNY Youth Member). This was followed
by an invocation song "Ninnolume Namagirali Tande" by Veena P., Mangala, Sharan, Rudra Kumar, Mallesh, Avig. One of the youth VSNY member,
Swaroop Gonchikar, gave a presentation about his experience during the "Bike and Build" tour.
After the presentation, based on the number of questions from the audience, it was considered to be very motivational especially to young kids.
VSNY president, Mr. VijayKumar Goud, welcomed everybody and gave us an update about the VSNA?VSNY happenings. During this event we had a lot
of young talent who came forward to show off their skills. They were Violin Recital by Shruti, Carnatic songs by Mirnalini, a fusion Bharatnatya
dance by Deeksha n Shreya, couple of songs by Dhruthi Goud. The main highlight of the evening was "Ekalayva play".
Some VSNY Ladies showed off their dance talent for the song "Jhalala Jhalala Jhalala Dhare"
This was followed by Election Results for a VSNY committee member. Apsara Hanagandi was niminated and chosen for one of the member positions.
This event was also marked by the sad news of the passing away of senior VSNY member, Dr. Byahatti. There was some time allocated for
remembering Dr.Byahatti
Finally there was General Body Meeting, followed by vote of thanks by Rathna Bale,
Mahamangala Aarti and then Dinner.
