The VSNA Society in Conjunction with
This
activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas
and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)
through the joint sponsorship of the Chicago Medical Society and the VSNA
Society. The Chicago Medical Society is accredited by the ACCME to provide
continuing medical education for physicians. The Chicago Medical Society designates this educational activity for a maximum of 3.0 category 1 credits towards the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. Learning Objectives At
the conclusion of each of the learning activities, participants should be able
to perform the functions mentioned with the title: Obstructive
Sleep Apnea and Cardiovascular disease 1.
Diagnose Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) in patients and recognize the risk of
untreated OSA. 2.
Evaluate data associating untreated OSA with hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias
and congestive heart failure. 3.
Employ treatment options in patients with OSA to reduce risk of adverse
cardiovascular events
Can
we prevent Diabetes: Challenges and Solutions 1.
Identify the barriers to early diagnosis of pre-diabetes and understand the
solutions to overcome them. 2. Discuss therapeutic choices available to prevent development of diabetes in these high risk patients.

Decision making and Communication at end of life 1.
Describe the elements of end of life care 2.
Define components of palliative care Update
on Urinary incontinence 1.
Assess the risk factors and barriers to the diagnosis and treatment of Urinary
incontinence 2.
Assess impact of Urinary Incontinence in Long Term Care and discuss the non-pharmacologic
and pharmacologic treatments of Urinary Incontinence Cardiovascular
disease in Chronic Kidney Disease 1.
Identify risk factors for cardiovascular disease in Chronic Kidney Disease. 2.
Discuss treatment options for both primary and secondary prevention of
cardiovascular disease in Chronic Kidney Disease. Speaker’s Disclosures In
